One Week Summer Vacation for Schools & School Timings Changed
Amid the intense heat wave and rising temperatures across Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to announce a one-week summer vacation for schools starting from July 1, 2025. This decision is being considered to provide relief to students and staff from the soaring heat.
“We are planning to announce summer vacation from July 1 of 2025 for one week. We will assess the weather condition before announcing any extension in the summer vacations.”
This means that while the initial break may be for one week, the government may extend it depending on how the weather changes in early July.
🕒 New School Timings from Saturday:

Srinagar City: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Outside Srinagar: 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM
These updated timings aim to reduce student exposure to the afternoon heat.
